What are Medium & Deep Chemical Peels and How Do They Work?
Medium and deep chemical peels are advanced skin resurfacing treatments designed to target imperfections that sit below the outermost layer of the skin. Unlike lighter peels, these treatments utilize a stronger chemical solution, applied at a depth of 35% and above. This specific concentration allows the peel to penetrate through the epidermis and reach the upper part of the dermis, the middle layer of your skin.
Once carefully applied by Dr. Nicholas Guido, the solution creates a controlled injury to the targeted skin cells. This process causes the damaged layers to safely peel away over the course of several days. As the old skin sheds, your body's natural healing process takes over, stimulating the production of fresh collagen and elastin. The result is the emergence of new, healthy skin that looks remarkably smoother, tighter, and more vibrant.
